I can definitely see where the older guys come from, but I'll do whatever I can to prolong my career. even though it's over haha

RPBrown,
I know, I'm pretty much old school too and understand where you're coming from.
Problem is, old school has resulted in massive amounts of preventable life altering injuries and sometimes death.
Back when I was a long distance in-line skater, I started out with zero safety gear. After I crashed and burned a few times my outlook changed.
Ultimately, I wore a helmet, wrist guards, and knee pads. If, I was going to do some very fast downhill stuff, I wore a mouth guard too.
Even now, when I long distance cycle, I wear a helmet and gloves. I surprise crashed once off my bike and split the back of my helmet on concrete. Man, was I ever glad I had it on. As a kid, I never wore safety gear and neither did my friends, but I finally learned too decades later...
