a snake oil is a snake oil. A Synthetic oil is Mobile One. Pick the one.

I really liked frog lube..... Until it is in really hot weather or really cold and then it comes to the surface and is just not good.

So...if it's roller-coaster lube, it's still lube, right? What's the gripe - other that your rifle looks like it's coated in wax when the temperature drops.

A buddy of mine's BIL has been selling lubricants for over 25 years. According to him, there are no new wonder lubricants. Everything on the market today and every "miracle" ingredient on the market today has been around for years.

The Germans were using synthetic lubricants in WWII.

Teflon was invented/discovered in 1938.

Mobil 1 was introduced in 1974.

Breakfree/CLP came out in 1983.

The container and label are about the only thing new with "new" wonder cleaners/lubricants/preservatives.

I don't see what the big deal is. All three lubes are made from natural products (vegetable oils) and so you expect them to test similarly. The question isn't what are they made of (unless it's something that's corrosive to your weapons.) It's do they work. I have used any of them (yet), but I have some Froglube which I planned on testing.

granted it doesn't really get that cold here in Houston, I've never seen Froglube wax up on me.

I have when used below freezing, but after the first one or two shots it's just fine.

I find it funny people will pick there gun lubes based on smell. If it doesn't smell like rotten eggs or wet musty dog and does the job it's intended to do then I'm happy.
