Full Auto Outdoors - DFW

Post by ScottDLS »

Does anybody know of an outdoor range that allows rifle and pistol caliber full-auto fire near DFW area? There used to be a range in Sanger, but I heard the owner stopped allowing full auto.

I'm looking for somewhere to plink with 5.56mm auto and semi fire and 9mm subgun. Also to be able to do a couplke 20+ round mag dumps. Indoors, I've shot at DFW Gun in Dallas, but my AC-556 is way too loud to shoot indoors unless I put the .22LR kit on it. Shooting a rifle indoors also just seems wrong. :???:

I believe that ETTS also allows full auto fire. I KNOW Tacpro allows it because I spent a morning hog hunting from a deer blind on a friend's property who shares a fence with Tacpro, and listened to someone hammering away with a M60/M240 a couple of hundred yards away. The deer were so used to it that they didn't even look up from their feeding on the corn. The pigs seemed to know better than to show up.

You might want to look into Mickey's Lease (just 10 miles south of Dallas on I-45 to Wilmer, then a couple of miles to the east on the Trinity) - $300 gets you a key for the year.

Mickey works at Ammo Depot (South Cado Mills): (903) 527-6120
Thank you. This is something I was looking for as I'm not financially in a position to lease my own property to have a range.
