Ft Worth City Hall carry rules for the public
The City of Fort Worth makes you sign a ledger and wear a colored wrist band to carry in City Hall. Say no and the marshals will not let you enter. I don't see how they can legally do this.

Not cool, and this would not fly in a court. File a complaint.BTP wrote:The City of Fort Worth makes you sign a ledger and wear a colored wrist band to carry in City Hall. Say no and the marshals will not let you enter. I don't see how they can legally do this.

File a complaint with who? Is it legal to begin with.

I haven't heard about this anywhere. Is this for any carry? Or just OC? Are there metal detectors? If this is true, what is the purpose of the ledger and wrist bands?

I would not believe it, unless I saw it. It's for all carry. Before the 1st, sign the ledger, after the 1st, sign and wear the yellow star. Purpose.. can't figure the reason.
Metal detector in place and armed Marshals guarding it. (they don't wear wrist bands)

What are these rules for carry?

5/20-Plastic in hand.

What would happen if you remove the wristband? There's no law that would require you to continue to wear it.

hmmm, that's an interesting idea.E10 wrote:What would happen if you remove the wristband? There's no law that would require you to continue to wear it.
I also like the idea of filing a complaint with the AG

I never cease to be amazed at how creative people get when it comes to playing games with the law and finding ways and nuances to exploit in order to get their way. I wonder what they think they are accomplishing besides intimidating people and discouraging them from carrying.

This is a great question. Is it a thin plastic wristband? One of the paper stickie ones?E10 wrote:What would happen if you remove the wristband? There's no law that would require you to continue to wear it.

Right or wrong, I would not recommend removing the wristband if open carrying in the event they might have trained other officers to use that as their primary threat assessment for visible guns.

Is this for OC or CC or for both? It would be interesting that you are CC and have the wrist band on.

That was my first thoughts.
What will they do if you cut it off. My second thought, just after saying "no, I will not put that on". Someone said they will not wear it and the Marshals said they couldn't come in then.

It was OWB but concealed with a jacket. Assume it was for all evil people of carry, as I saw two other bands and no guns prior to this.chasfm11 wrote:Is this for OC or CC or for both? It would be interesting that you are CC and have the wrist band on.
