Want to really help a vet?

Buy them groceries.

Pay their rent for awhile.

Take them to a doctor or therapy.

Be a friend.

Don't give money to huckster charities who pay their top "executives" big bucks.

Big charities attract big cons...

Just a note regarding WWP a couple years ago my son's Boy Scout troop as they do every year raise money for charity by going on a 25 mile hike called hiking for heroes the boys choose the charity they want to support that helps veterans in some way Usher House, the local VFW , etc after the charity is selected, the boys recruit sponsors to donate as they hike along the roads carrying flags of each branch of the military, P.O.W./M.I.A. etc.. also with support vehicles to distribute water andfirst aid needs. After the hike and the money is collected, the chosen charity is notified and they usually send a representative to accept the check and fully explain to the boys what the money is used to do for veterans. They also presented a plaque or framed letter to thank the scouts We ways had wonderful responses from everyone until WWP. They refused to send a representative, and only provided an address to send the check, no thank you no letter, zilch. We teach the boys that giving is its own reward but it was very disheartening for the boys as well as the leaders. Needless to say, our last charity was the Chris Kyle foundation and Taya Kyle came by and was very appreciative of the boy's efforts thanked them and gave them a plaque.
WWP has been removed as a potential charity for the boys.

the only thing I will give WWp is a swift kick in the groin with my steel toed boots, as hard and as fast as I can, nor would I take anything from them, they are aggregately liars thieves and making a living off of the misery of myself and my friends and family. I would like to see all of the people running that abortion in jail at gitmo without the benefit of the buildings, just keep them caged and fed pig leftovers/ rant I have no useful way to use these individuals and no I am trying to be nice so that Keith doesn't send me another stop it message but my god how I want to rage about these rotten scoundrels

Always check Charity Navigator first.
