The intent of this post is to highlight some things that I have observed/learned during my time on this forum, which will hopefully be useful to new members and those who are lurking / on the fence of joining the forum, in particular.
1. The site Ownership Team/Moderators are here to help you. They care about 2A issues enough to have devoted lots of time, money and stress creating and managing this site. Keeping that in mind, this is their house and the rules set forth are there for a reason, more on that below.
2. Our opponents are watching. This ties to the #1 above, pertaining to the house rules.
People and organizations who are anti-2A/anti-Liberty and anti-Freedoms would love nothing more then to extract bits and pieces of forum conversation and use it against us. Thusly, on occasion, when our emotions behind the keyboard take the best of us, it is good to remember this. Moreover, it is a great service to have Moderators who stand guard, and ensure that we have a clean house.
3. Disagreements with other members on certain topics are almost inevitable. However, we are ALL here because we value 2A rights, Individual Freedom, and the Liberty that was richly bestowed upon us. That means that we are brothers and sisters in arms here. We have individual differences from time to time, and that just confirms that we are indeed human. This will tie into #4 below.
4. There is a plethora of knowledge and diversity on this forum. This is NOT a homogenous site.
There are members from all walks of life here; Attorneys, Law Enforcement, Military, Federal, Retirees, Engineers, Doctors, Scientists, Pistol/Rifle instructors, Teachers, Stay at home mom's/dad's, Business people, Programmers, Rich, Poor, Middle class...
We have members from various ethnic backgrounds. Some, such as myself, are foreign born Naturalized American Citizens. There are Christian, Muslim and Atheist members, and the list goes on...
Point is, because there is such a rich pool of diversity, this site offers an incredible amount of knowledge from every possible angle imagined.
5. With respect to Texas gun rights in particular, many of pro-2A bills that passed would have been absolutely dead on arrival had it not been for the Leadership of this site and certain members who were, and continue to be, a vital and integral components to the furtherance of Texas 2A battle.
With that in mind...
6. There are few organizations here in Texas who are not even worth mentioning by name, who are nothing but misguided poseurs that on the surface may appear as pro-2A, but their tactics have been very damaging to the Texas 2A and to the CHL/LTC community.
Some may even say that these folks are shills for the anti-2A crowd.
Please do your research accordingly on this, and remember from #5 above; The biggest headways for Texas 2A rights were made by the very people on this site, despite the damaging tactics used by one organization in particular whose name I will not mention.
These are the six shooter points that I picked up along the way.
Hope that it is helpful.

Well written parabelum. We all have our opinions and should feel free to express them. As long as we all respect others opinions, we can agree to disagree and not resort to personal attacks. Thanks for the well thought out post.

TAM, that sounds like you pulled that quote right out of a left wing liberals mouth. Your not going north on us are you?
Re: TexasCHLForum - six shooter points
The quote is out of context now, as there was another post removed that was not relevant to the discussion.
