Let me start by saying I have never been hunting at all. I live in Lubbock and would like to try it. Found a couple websites for places and it looks like it's about $150 for hunt with a guide. Does that sound about normal? Do they normally process it (this isn't clear on most sites)? What are some questions to ask? Does anyone know of any places specifically in west Texas?
Any help would be appreciated. Again I am totally new to absolutely everything hunting. Thanks in advance.

no they don't usually do the processing for the hunt fee, if they offer it then you would pay extra for processing, it can be more than what you pay for pork in the grocery store. as far as west texas I have no idea I hunt in the east texas piney woods

SIRIT,
If you do go hog hunting and have to process it, look at a number of Youtube videos first.
There are many, very helpful out there.
Also, have the tools necessary to do the job, that is, hanger, knives, I like the Havalon knives, (replaceable blade type knife) ice, coolers, etc.
Keep in mind, this job isn't for the squeamish. My wife helped me one time and I thought she was going to pass out, but she hung in there, despite nausea and light headedness.
Or, if you have a nearby butcher, have them do all the processing, but it won't be inexpensive.
