RPBrown did yours have a dust cover and forward assist? Grab-a-gun has them on sale for $629.00. I was wondering if this was the going price? My son is wanting an AR for patrol and he is on a limited budget.
If they do allow it, you will need to find out what ammo the department uses. For example, if they utilize the Hornady TAP 75 gr round, the 1:9 twist may not be fast enough to stabilize the round. However, if they use a 55 gr or 62 gr round, the 1:9 twist will work fine.
Many departments authorize other rifles in the S&W lineup that come with a 1:9 twist, so it may not be a deal breaker... but something to be aware of.
