That number is not a secret. many places on web to get it as it is public information. Get a license plate and from there you can bactrack thru to every member of the household of driving age (assuming they have valid info at dps) using public records in munites. This includes just about everything but SSN and credit although those are available but can get you introuble for accessing.
For that matter, your social security number is not private anymore. Identity theft is a serious problem though. Put fraud alerts on your credit reports every 90 days or hire a company to do it.

At DPS instructor renewal kkul just last Tuesday, we were told that the "new administration" wants the old license to be sent back to them ...
