I like the holster and the light, the problem is the holster will not fit any other accessories. I have the streamlight contour remote and the gun will not fit in the holster easily and is near impossible to unholster when the remote switch is on the gun.

Light and gun will easily fit and draw is easy and gun is held secure in holster. But does not work with contour remote added to gun. Very disappointing.
I pretty much figured that would be the case since they also ask what model of light will be mounted with anything else other than the standard light. Did you call and ask about that ahead of time or was it something you thought about after getting the holster and tried?

I thought about it after I ordered and tried. My question is, is their any advantage or reason that I wouldn't want the remote switch? The light comes on every time you grip the gun firmly so perhaps it could be a disadvantage??? But when you are ready to shoot, you need to ID target anyway.

I'm just trying to find a good reason to be happy about not using the remote switch. But it sure does seem to be a definite advantage to having it, over having to manual activate light with offhand.

The holster with light option can still be used without the light so if I decide to use it with handheld light only I can do it easily and nothing lost.

I suppose you can modify the holster to make it fit with the remote but I don't care for that much, I'll likely just mess up a good holster trying.

My new Safariland 7 holster arrived today for my G21SF with a TLR-1 light attached. Let the break in period begin! I was hoping to have had it before last weekends shoot up at Top Gun, but I guess that was not meant to be.

I'll let ya'll know what I think about it as the break in period progresses. I have a night match in a couple of weeks that I'll really get to test it out, so I hope it's broken in well enough by then.

7ts requires zero break in. A few draws to get used to the lesser amount of friction versus the old suede models and you should be good to go.

The owner's manual says differently, but I understand what you mean. After only 10-12 cycles of holstering and drawing it feels like it's getting smoother. As you mentioned, though, that could just be me getting used to the slightly different drawing motion compared to the Blackhawks I've been using for around ten years or more.

The last night shoot we had, I did much better with a head mounted light than I have done with a weapon mounted light. The weapon mounted lights do not illuminate the sights, but with my head mounted light, the sights showed up great. The light points wherever I look, and I am not "covering" everything I illuminate.
I've seen a head/hat mounted light used before and it seemed interesting, but not very practical. Who's going to go around with that thing on their head/hat all the time? Or have the presence of mind to activate it in a stressful situation, while drawing their handgun, while probably fending off an attacker with the other hand. What about in the house if something goes bump in the night? I don't know if I'd think about putting my hat on with the light before having to engage someone or have the time to do that.

Today is the first morning I've put it on to wear. Here are my first impressions.

1. The holster doesn't feel as robust as the Blackhawk CQCs I've been using for years. It's probably just as strong or stronger, but it feels different.

2. It is much more difficult to put on with my 5.11 Instructor belt. It feels a little more secure once on, but getting it into position is not as easy. And it is much more difficult to adjust the position once on. With the Blackhawk CQC I can move the holster back and forth from 3-4 or even 5 o'clock as needed with ease, but not so far with this Safariland 7TS.

3. I ordered the holster with the forward cant and it is much more severe than I thought it would be. The CQC is adjustable. It can be straight up, slightly forward or rearward, and also very much forward or rearward cants. The 7TS forward cant is more like the most forward cant of the CQC. It is more than I care for, but will give it a little time to see if I can adjust my own drawing habit. I will also call Safariland to see what kind of return or exchange options I have to see if I can get the straight, non canted version. Because of this cant I have having trouble drawing the handgun smoothly and it is getting hung up. Not on the trigger or anything, so no risk of ND. I can draw it smoothly, but it is doesn't feel easy or natural. I think it is the light that is getting caught on something inside the holster. I'll have to practice with it more.

4. I like the locking mechanism and thumb release.

5. It seems like the paddle is molded to fit in a certain spot on the hip at about 3:30-4 o'clock. Because of the lack of ease to move it around so far, I'm not sure if it will be comfortable at all in any other place along the belt. I'll also have to try it with jeans and the leather belt later today or tomorrow to see if there's any difference there.

Overall, my first impression is not good and that is mostly due to #3.

I'm thinking about going for one of the Streamlight models as well.
However, it always bugs me that they place the laser so far away from the barrel creating a substantial offset...

I just added a crimson trace to my G-30S. I ordered a custom Left Hand, G-30S, IWB, with the exact model laser from http://www.detroitholster.com/store/ It arrived within a business week and fits the weapon perfectly.

They have a large list of exact weapon and lighting combinations.

I hope this helps.
