Anyone Keeping Up With Loretta Lynch's Latest?

AG Loretta Lynch wants to let nation break law without consequences
New York Post‎ - 5 hours ago

Attorney General Loretta Lynch has issued a warning to municipal and state judges across the country that their courts could lose federal funding if they don’t ease up on fines and arrest warrants for minor crimes involving poor offenders, indigent minorities in particular.

In lieu of fines and jail time, Lynch urges the nation’s 6,500 municipal courts to provide an avenue for offenders to perform “community service” or take advantage of “amnesty days,” whereby outstanding arrest warrants are cleared for nominal fees.

Failure to comply with these policies could trigger a Ferguson-style discrimination investigation. Already, Lynch says she’s “evaluating discrimination complaints against several court systems.”

A strongly worded “guidance” letter, written by her civil-rights team, warns that a local court policy of enforcing warrants for failure to pay court fines and fees can have an adverse “disparate impact” on African-Americans, who are fined and/or arrested for outstanding warrants at “disproportionate” rates versus whites. Attorney General Loretta Lynch has issued a warning to municipal and state judges across ...

The above is what I could cut and paste what I could from "The New York Post". From what I read there's no definition for low level or minor crimes separate laws for African-Americans

Look it up and read the whole thing - It's Orwellian

So, I as a white person will have to continue to obey so-called "low-level" or minor crime laws, but African-Americans won't?

Or, do I misunderstand?

Next we will hear how sentencing poor monority offenders to community service is "a new form of slavery".

My sig line perfectly sums up everything that liberals do.

I know you can legally get your name changed, so I ask: Can I change my race and financial status to indigent African-American?

I want to shrug off all the lower level and minor crimes I may commit if only I can change my race/financial status.

Us po folk, who're discriminated against when we break the law be needin jes-tice.

I must preface this with the fact I think she's despicable, however, the problem she's referring to is called "debtors prison" and she has some valid points. The argument is that many municipalities are using jails to make up for tax shortfalls. Before you say it, I know, don't break the law.

Here's a link that will get you started with some interesting reading.

lfinsr,

I looked at the link you provided.

If it's true, then yes, debtors prison as outlined in the link, is straight out of Dickens and to be fought against. Again, if true, no fair person would support this nonsense.

If her target is solely debtors prison shenanigans, then yes, she does have a very valid point, but given no specifics in the N.Y. Post article as to what low level or minor crime defines as, I'd like to know a lot more before I say yes, right on Sister. You go get em girl!

Right now, I can only speculate that there are other unspecified "crimes" she wants semi-forgiven...ones I very well may say: "Are you kidding me"?

Maybe it's the start of a trend towards "no-fault crime."

Based on some of the reading I've done, I think it's fair to say there are definitely some injustices being carried out while others deserve what has been served. What percentage of each is up to an individual to decide. All I'm saying is in this case there may be more than meets the eye. Feel free to do some Googling about debtors prison and I think you find what I did... :tiphat:

If it's really about "debtor's prisons" then the whole thing should be without regard to race/color. It should be purely upon a basis of income and monetary status. This threat to American courts is not about that, I guarantee it. It is about sowing more animosity and hatred, the one thing this administration seems to be good at doing. :banghead: :mad5

I've seen/heard several articles on this now and it's not race based, it's low income based. You get a speeding ticket, it's $250 but you don't have that so you make arrangements to pay it off. You're late on a payment so you get picked up, brought to court and an additional fine of $500 which you arrange to pay off (along with the first), lather, rinse, repeat. Can pay at all? Jail time, which seems rather counter productive.
