Aside from the chanting, this sounds very similar to what me and my buddies did a few weeks ago in an east Texas forest.... guys camping trip, lots of target shooting, shotguns, rifles, pistols. We got a visit from a park ranger but no one was handcuffed. Of course, we are all white males.

A turban would indicate they were Indian Sikhs not terrorists in training.

"no serial number because the rifle was purchased in parts"

Aren't receivers serial numbered?

I think the chants of "allah is greater" rules that out.

Yes, but you can do the final work on an 80% lower and it doesn't have to have a serial number. Same if you machine out a receiver from a blank billet, providing you have the time, equipment, and know how. Just needs a serial number on it to transfer it to another person if memory serves.

Possibly a keffiyeh but nobody knows that so turban is the fall back word.

Yeah, my wife has one on her car, supposed to increase the engine horsepower, or so said the salesperson. ;-)
