Desantis Popup Holster for summer

Post by mojo84 »

With summer coming and the fact I spend a lot of time in slacks or shorts with a tucked in button up shirt, I am considering some alternatives to my heavy Hi-Power in an Alien Gear holster setup. I use the tuck feature of the Alien Gear now but am considering carrying my Colt Mustang more as it would be easier to get on and off. I do not want to open carry during business hours as I am not sure how prospects would take an insurance agent showing up wearing an exposed handgun.

I am considering the Desantis Popup holster as I can wear it on the outside of my shirt but deep enough in my pants it will be almost unnoticeable. Would be interested in others opinions. There are some obvious concerns but am still interested in opinions. I also plan to wear this on my "weak" side as it could be a decent backup carry if I was to ever decide to carry both. Also, I am a lefty but shoot just as accurately and comfortably with my right hand. Therefore, being an ambidextrous shooter I am not worried about which side my gun is on.

Not a bad little holster. But it doesn't have the tuck ability. You'd have to blouse some of your shirt over the butt of the gun to totally hide it.

It will definitely work, but I think a tuckable holster similar to that would make you look more professional in your appearance. Take a look at this one:

If I were meeting clients, I would choose SOF-TUCK over the other one. Just my opinion. :tiphat:

Joe, I'm considering that one as well. Thanks

I have one and it seems like a good holster. Unfortunately, using it once again convinced me that I really do not like IWB carry. So it has gone in the box with all the other holsters I don't use.

I have a Sof-tuck for my LCP. It works well AIWB and IWB, though I still prefer my DeSantis Nemesis if I have the pocket space (or I know that I might have to disarm/rearm a couple of times).
