My first kydex holster

Cost a little over 40$ for everything including the eyelet setter tool. That's the most expensive piece you buy although if you already have the setter for the 1/4 inch eyelets your looking at about 20$. But once you have the tools it's very cheap and if you got into selling them you'd make all your money back in one or two holsters. So yes I could have bought a pre made holster for 40$ but not to my specs and exactly what I wanted. Now I have all the tools and pieces I need so all I have to buy is more kydex or belt clips if I need them. Make sure you get rubber washers for the finishing screws or Chicago screws. You dont have to but that helps the screw not to back out without using loc tite. You will need a kydex press or vacuum press. I made mine out of 2x4s and the foam I use is the blue sleeping bag foam you get at Walmart for 7$. It's the 1/2 pad you put under your sleeping bag when you go camping I cut mine to fit my press and I use four pieces two on top two on bottom to make it 1" thick foam. You will need a toaster oven or you can use your regular oven and a heat gun also you need a way to cut the kydex. I luckily already had those power tools so I was just out supplies. I heat my kydex to about 300 but you can scorch it and cause shiny spots or even melt it if you go to hot. There's plenty of YouTube videos on how to make holsters. That's what got me interested.
