Glock 26 sights question

Hey guys wanna get your opinions on what sights I should go with for my 26. I have Dawson precision blacked out rear and green fiber optic only front sight for my 19 but I wanted to try something different this time on the 26. I really like the fiber optic during the daytime and tridium at night. Is there any that offer both in one? It's my CC gun so I don't mind spending a little more for decent sights. Thanks in advance!

I have had trijjiicon and competitors and Stock sights and Big Dots and bunches of others on my Glocks since Gen 1 in the 1980s...
Fiber optics are nice...
But
I'm still faster on sight acquisition and accuracy on followup shots with the Advantage Tactical Sights
(Added benefits of (A)snagless and of (B)1-handed operation if one hand/arm is injured or occupied with door/flashlight/whatever)

Ex-LEO saw my patterns on the target with two Glock 26s and told me "Carry that one"
My accuracy improved on followup shots a bunch >> faster on sight acquisition

I carry two Glock 26s daily, have for 7 years or so
Picture here is someone else on XDMs who found my same Rear Orange Yellow front works best on all "shirt colors" I mean "targets" in all lighting conditions

I'm testing some Truglo TFX Pro sights on my M&P. Fiber/Tritium with more protection for the fiber. So far, it's been a real nice combo.

Those tactical advantage sights look pretty cool. I saw a couple vids on them. My question is though how will you be able to pick them up in low light conditions?

The sights come with all colors, I lined up various shirts as I dimmed lights settled on yellow front it didn't disappear on white shirt, but was brighter than other colors on dark shirt or lower light. Putting it at top of triangle wasn't hard at any lighting condition where I could make sure It was foe not family as a target... your mileage may vary ... I may try firefly some day, just to see.

If a guy has on a light shirt, you can easily make a big black triangle, in low light I still see the yellow front sight at top of triangle if he has on a dark shirt, so I can see the sights in very low light.
It's a BIG yellow front dot compared to most sights
ATS has some Firefly sights too I have not tried them but I don't shoot what it is too dark to see anyway, If I cannot see the target...

I can "make a triangle" much faster MUCH easier than line up the spaces between 3 small dots or level the tops of 3 posts while making sure the spaces are even on each side of front sight etc etc

Thank you for your question. We have been asked about this before. Unlike tritiums, our Fireflies will last for decades. One’s great grandchildren will find that our Fireflies will hold the same glow as they would currently do for the original owner. You'll never need to replace them and, like all night sight systems -- thermal, tritiums, etc. -- you just need to work within the parameters of that particular system. Though most police departments require tritiums, we have not been able to uncover credible evidence that they have been useful in police shootings.
ATS firefly is the biggest glowing front sight in the industry.

Firefly sounds interesting, I may try them on my next Glock 26 if I buy another and start carrying 3 of them every day or rotate them and still carry 2

With the Firefly, just put the largest glowing front sight in the industry on the target and go. Aligning tritiums, especially dim ones, is time consuming and may dangerous because of that fact.

In the 1980s I had "PT night sights, colored tritium sights that came in coolors, I put different colors on each Glock to see what caliber each Glock was in the dark (I had all Glock models made) All those sights dimmed and needed replacing, I tried other tritium brands, now I use ATS sights and Police guys and others I shoot with tell me I'm more accurate and faster followups with them even nights at the outdoor unlighted range ( A farm )

HOW DO YOU DECIDE ON WHETHER TO USE A FIREFLY OR THE REGULAR NYLON INSERTS. WHAT DO YOU PERSONALLY USE?

I’ve been back and forth on this one. At the moment and after much experimentation, this is where I am currently with the Firefly vs. florescent nylon front sight insert decision: When I have a dual purpose firearm -- a firearm that I use for both competition and defense -- I use the Firefly. With firearms that are exclusively used for competition, I use the nylon front sight inserts.

These days, my Firefly color combo is red rear sight insert with a yellow Firefly Front.

I prefer the orange rear and yellow front after my own tests I might get yellow front firefly though

when a precise shot is needed, one can still align a dark mountain rear with a glowing bright yellow top.

One final note: Our standard nylon inserts are highly florescent and can be seen (really pop) in even weak ultra violet light. Such is the condition of the sky, after the sun has set as well as before sunrise. In both situations, the sky is filled with ultra violet light and our nylon inserts really pop. They look like they’ve got a lamp under them in that light. This is really a boon for hunters, where most states limit hunting to 1/2 hr. before sunrise and 1/2 hr. after sunset. You can really see our standard florescent inserts on a dark animal hide, in those dimly lit outdoor moments. Our Fireflies are also somewhat florescent as well, though not as much as the standard nylon inserts.

I have no affiliation with the company, I became a fan of their sights after Massad Ayoob tried them and I decided to and wrote a few tips to the company about my preferences.... I never even got a free set of sights from them LOL but I put them on everything I have now, My XD45, my Taurus Slim ... All my Glocks ...

Thanks for all the info I believe I'm gonna try those sights and get the firefly as well! Seems like a super fast and accurate way to shoot. And I am the same way I don't shoot when it's too dark to see unless I have a light

I pocket carry one 26 and IWB carry the other. You'll notice the angles on those sights after installed are less likely to catch on clothing so it's better when you draw, than other sights, the "geometry" is good

The rear sight has a ledge to assist in one-hand operation and one hand drills clearing jams etc if your other hand is on flashlight/door/holding down someone/injured etc. if needed (I only have one hand)

I use only XS Big Dot 24/7 sights on all of my carry pistols and on my AR's.

Obviously so much of this is personal preference. Like your G19, I like Dawson fiber on my front and plain on my rear sight. I'm more of an M&P guy but did pick up a G19 with night sights. I had problems (old eyes) with getting right sight picture with three dots. Picked up a second G19 with stock sights but never a fan of those sights. I stumbled across Ameriglo CAP sights. This has a bright, fiber like front, and plain rear sight. The rear has fluorescent at bottom of rear sight. In the day I used like my fiber/plain but at night, I align the glowing front on top of glowing rear. The rear is not as bright at night as the front but still adequate. If you can flash the sights with a flashlight, they really glow but that might not be tactically practical. I have the Ameriglo CAP sights on both my Glock 19s now.

I'm not sure their offering for a G26 but they offer two options (GL614 and GL624 IIRC) for the 19. I opted for a thinner front sight to help my old eyes pick up the gap better between front and rear.

This. ITs what I have on both my Glocks, and they will go on every pistol I buy going forward. I have the Trijicon HDs on my 1911. While they are nice, I prefer the TFOs.
