ARGH, I wish I could be there for the parties.

If it comes close I've got the important job of getting my mother to Fort Worth. She isn't in too good shape to be traveling, and I'm already pretty nuts with my "always be prepared" attitude. I can forsee that trip being insanely prepared for. 20 MREs, 10 gallons of water, CB radio, and an AR-15 for starters.

Y'all think your worried. Think about it if turns North towards me! As it is I keep my truck on full with 3 sepereate 5 gallon gas jugs in the bed strapped down. Also most of my high dollar valuables are back in TX but I do have a few here. Those are all packed in plastic tupperware and ready to go. I'm moving everything into the bedroom (I live on the second floor) and hooking it should one come at us. I'd like to go back home to TX, but I think I may have to head north to Arkansas and Oklahoma so I don't get stuck in traffic.
My posts on this website are worth every cent you paid me for them.

Looking a bit better, but one or two of these "model" programs are not our friend so much...

Hope someone is getting those folks in Mexico ready...

What a country!

Tornadoes don't phase me. I was born and raised in Missouri.

Heat and humidity don't phase me. I lived in Delaware for a few years.

I even got a taste of blizzards by living in Colorado for ten years.

Now I move to Texas and even though the nearest beach is hours of driving away I get to taste hurricanes?

At least I'm back in a sane part of the country where people who prepare for emergencies remember to check their ammo supplies.

I have live in tornado country all my life and they scare me a lot. You just can't prepare for them and with the way they build houses down here in Texas, you really have no where to go that's very safe.

Everyother kind of weather event you can plan for.

Actually, the track does look pretty good, but I am wondering what the "real" effect of the Yucatan pennisula "landmass" is going to have on the storm...

Sure it'll lose some strength, and forward momentum, bt I am not so sure its going to have a lot of steam left to take it right across into Mexico like they are showing...

I think its going to start hooking up more to the north...

I'm still thinking Brownsville to Corpus...At the least a Cat 3...

I hope not, but not a lot is going to keep it from effecting us in some form or fashion...

Just a gut feeling I have...

Got a 2000 watt generator, blender, assorted rums and mixes, tv, 360, case of Wolf brand chili and Dinty Moore, live 25 feet off the ground. 1500 rounds of .30-06, 1000 rounds of .45 acp, 1000 .308 so I think I will be just fine for the next one that starts to come our way.

Hopefully it will stay down south...I had to board up yesterday in anticipation of evacuating the hospitals down here by air. I am just about the only one around here in Corpus boarded up..My neighbors all think that I am nuts, but I will be busy if it heads this way and won't have time to clean up later! My boat looks great in the garage! A buddy and I even went to the gun show today looking for last minute supplies! :) It was horrible...nothing there! Blah!!

Check out this site I found for lots of hurricane info on one page!

I'm supposed to be heading to Reynosa for the week leaving out on tuesday. Think I should reschedule? It doesn't seem to me that it's much of a threat and I'll have a rental car and could bug out if needed. I just hat eto have to reschedule after alot of planning went into this trip. I know safety is paramount and not worth risking anything but I could always just leave..........?? Opinions?

The latest news from the weather guessers puts the track into Mexico still.
If per chance, Dean takes a northern track, putting you "coasties" in the path and you feel a need to get out the heck out of Dodge, I've got 31 acres just north of Austin that any one that needs to can come and wait out the weather. This is an open invite to members of this board.

For whatever it's worth, the expected track seems to be moving farther and farther south. Early Saturday, the expected path had it potentially as far north as Corpus. Now it's looking like it may stay south of the border entirely.
