Re: Is it August yet?
We were to an outside event at TWU last night. I was talking to another fellow there about how different things might be if the event were after August 1st. I haven't seen anything on TWU policies but since this wasn't a college spoored event, I'm not sure how CC could be prohibited.

If it was in the building, even if not a college event, no CC till Aug 1.
Only about a month and a half now.

I would not bet on all colleges immediately complying in good faith. Carrying weapons is so antithetical to the elite class's mindset that they will drag their feet, try to game the rules, and otherwise be as obstructive as possible.TexasJohnBoy wrote:Only about a month and a half now.

If there's not a 30.06 posted, then you can carry (concealed) after Aug 1. The way I read the statute, and ianal, it doesn't matter what their policy is - they have to post 30.06 compliant signs at each gun free zone that's designated, period.

Re: Is it August yet?
There is no Baylor University in Dallas. There is no Baylor Medical School (well, there is one called something like that in Houston). Many people make that error, Baylor University in Waco has no medical school or hospital.
Regardless, all such entities are privately owned, and may post 30.06/30.07 as they wish. And, Baylor University has already announced that it will opt out on Aug 1st. The other entities are not affected by the campus carry law, and can post 30.06 whenever they want. I haven't checked, but I bet the medical centers already are posted.

No need to be. A lot of people make that assumption. But to be completely accurate, Baylor University does have a Nursing School in Dallas.
Not surprised of the postings.

Re: Is it August yet?
I never anticipated that "Baylor Hospital" would have a swim center and be hosting a Swim Across America event. Never considered "Hospital", even for a second.... I guess that's what happens when you assume.
Interestingly, as I walked form the car to the facility, the event signage guided us through an entrance that was not posted. I happened to see the main entrance doors posted very clearly as we were ushered past it.

They also have a PhD. Psychology program, which with the ability to prescribe psychotropic drugs makes it a para-medical program ;)oohrah wrote:No need to be. A lot of people make that assumption. But to be completely accurate, Baylor University does have a Nursing School in Dallas.

I'm still waiting for the 30.06 signs to go up, since my campus has opted out.TexasTornado wrote:1 month 7 days 12 hours until my first class with campus carry.....not that anyone is counting....
