Proud of my Grand Daughter

Post by RPBrown »

I am so proud of my Grand Daughter. The final Texas State High School bowling rankings came out this morning and as a freshman, she is the # 4 ranked high school bowler in Texas. :thewave That's not #4 female but # 4 over all. Althogh they cannot approach her this year, college scouts have already been filming and taking notes. We met 2 at the State Tournament last month, one form Stephen F Austin and one from OU. I also know that Kentucky was here and scouted her in regional s. She goes to Indianapolis in August to bowl in Nationals. The other coaches in the region are trying to get them to move into their school districts for next year.

BTW, for those that bowl, she has carried a 221 average through all of the tournaments, regional thru state, and has rolled 2-300 games (perfect game) and she is just now 15. I've been bowling for 50 years and 298 was my best ever game and I was 35 when that happened. No, Pawpaw won't bowl against her but have bowled a couple of youth/adult tournaments with her but she still showed me up

Congrats! Sounds like a great kid! I know you ave very proud of her. Good to know there are young adults out there doing good stuff vs. all the other troubling possibilities that are out there.

Congrats to you and your Granddaughter!! :clapping:

I've never come close to matching those scores. Sounds like she has a bright future ahead, either as a pro, or using it to get her degree. I know you all are proud. :thumbs2:

That's outstanding.

Honestly, I had no idea that colleges recruited bowlers... Learn something every day.

Not every college has a bowling program. Sam Houston State won the womens collegiate title year before last.
