I almost never forward jokes, but this one is so close to home!
"As we Silver Surfers know, sometimes we have trouble with our computers.
Yesterday, I had a problem, so I called Georgie, the 11 year old next door, whose bedroom looks like Mission Control, and asked him to come over.
Georgie clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem.
As he was walking away, I called after him, 'So, what was wrong?
He replied, 'It was an ID ten T error.'
I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, 'An, ID ten T error? What's that? In case I need to fix it again.'
Georgie grinned...'Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?
'No,' I replied.
'Write it down,' he said, 'and I think you'll figure it out.'
So I wrote down:
ID10T
I used to like Georgie, the little smart alec.

Uhhhh, that's not funny.
I've had to have my 7 year old grandson show me how to fix a problem on this thing I'm typing on.

My favorite is a PEBKAC error - too many people know what an ID-10-T error is...
(PEBKAC - Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair)
I got in trouble at Best Buy when I worked there because I put it under notes for the computer. To be fair - I only listed it as a possible PEBKAC error, and checked it in to confirm there was nothing wrong (they had a service contract, so it didn't cost them anything extra to do this) but I strongly suggested to the user the problem wasn't one we could fix...

Re: Computers
I used to say it was a hardware error - there was a nut loose on the keyboard. Half the time I got a laugh, other half they'd just say ok.
