Re: National Anthem
The anthem we usually consider complete is itself just a part of the whole work, but it stands as complete because the meaning is clear and sufficient. The whole work is worth reading/hearing, though.

Mongoose, I hear what you are saying and appreciate it. However, in this day and time, I am thankful for any time and part of the National Anthem or Pledge of Allegiance that I hear. I know, my standards have been worn down.

Speaking of the National Anthem, my daughter sang the National Anthem at her MCJROTC's celebration of the Marine Corps' birthday. She did great. I am so proud of her.

Roger Goodell praises football players for disrespecting the National Anthem.
I've always like college football better than professional football. So it will be no sacrifice to never watch a professional football game again.

I don't get why people still watch bunch of overpaid ninnys in NFL and MLB. I know that there are some patriotic players (not going to forget Pat Tillman), but these stinking organizations are vastly un-American cesspools these days.

Kaepernick, needs to stay seated, he will be spending most of the rest of his NFL career on the bench. He is a non issue.

I sent Roger an email over the weekend. Told him thanks for freeing up my Sundays (and Monday and Thursday nights) to spend more time with the family.philip964 wrote:http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nf ... /90633952/

Re: National Anthem
I had no use for Roger Goodell anyway and after the NFL's ban on off duty officer's carrying in their stadiums it affirmed my opinion. Not that it greatly impacts us in Texas as state law trumps the NFL policies. But then again, to be honest, the last NFL game I attended was so far long ago it is just a vague memory.

They are all over paid but what I find sad is in the MLB, there are a lot of non-American players who show more respect for this country than the NFL or NBA.parabelum wrote:I don't get why people still watch bunch of overpaid ninnys in NFL and MLB. In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.
