It's about time. Ruger MkII and MkIII pistols have always been pretty darn good for the price point -- except for the ease of disassembly and reassembly. Now, if they'd release the MkIV without the loaded chamber indicator in a "lite" version with a 6.5" - 7.5" barrel I'd have a really hard time resisting the impulse to buy.

I can't help but wonder if the release of the S&W Victory had something to do with this. Essentially it came to market as an improved MkIII.

I just bought a S&W Victory with threaded barrel- sweet pistol, extremely easy to break down and clean. Great shooting, handled 5 out of 6 brands/types of ammo I put through it first time at range. FWIW - it would not reliably load CCI Stinger HP's. It did load two other brands of HP's with no problems.

S&W worked with 3rd parties to develop accessories, including other barrels.

Praise Jesus! I won't take my 22/45 apart anymore. I've cut myself too many times trying to put it back together. All I end up doing is to use a lot of bad language and fall from grace. Nowadays I just squirt any kind of solvent I have handy all over the insides, get to whatever I can with patches and q-tips, and liberally apply the lube. You have to be a crazy person with a penchant for pain who enjoys the smell of your own blood to try and take one of those things apart.

Any info on the trigger? Adjustable? Did not see anything on the Ruger site.
Looks good, may need to figure out how to get one.

The Mark IV does not have a loaded chamber indicator.

The Hunter version has a 6.88" barrel.

The Mark IV does not have a loaded chamber indicator.

Great. The loaded chamber indicator was just one more thing that could cause a malfunction.

I do like the Hunter model, but I'd like to see a ~7" Lite model. The ~4" Lite models might be great suppressor hosts, but the longer Lite barrel would be good for younger shooters working on marksmanship. The Hunter is great, but heavy.

Yeah I hate things that make me say words not fit for decent company. When I cut open my hand demonstrating proper knife sharpening techniques to some Boy Scouts, I think the pain from biting my tongue, was worse than the cut.

The price point on the Smith & Wesson Victory is great. I am having a hard time choking down $ 529 (Blued) or $ 689 (SS) vs $ 399 Smith & Wesson in SS. I guess it's only money..and I need too stop being cost sensitive.
