This, though I'd go for the most defensible shot to start; plugging a guy that's picking his nose and waiting for a turn at the looting is going to be an issue in court. Dropping one who's in the process of forcing a victim out of their car is going to be a good shoot whether you're at muzzle contact or 1500 yards.locke_n_load wrote:If people are being dragged from their vehicles and beaten, possibly killed, you have every right to use deadly force to try and stop said attacks. Texas Penal Code makes no distinction on distance (10 yards vs 100 yards).
A bit of range also has the "who's next?" advantage; nobody wants to be the first guy to try to approach across your kill zone. If you can make that 100+ yards, it's not going to look very doable to anybody. Think of yourself as the Germans at Normandy...except in this case, the Allied troops aren't fighting for freedom, just free stuff and anarchy. Doubt they'll press forward through losses like that.
