Just a pause to recognize that teleamp's heart is in the right place. He is taking the responsibility of concealed carry very seriously, and is endeavoring to do the right thing.
So, good on ya for that, teleamp.

And if you are anywhere near Houston, I highly recommend you attend the TXCHL Forum Day at PSC, and particularly the "Aftermath of Deadly Force" seminar Charles Cotton is conducting the evening before, on Friday, September 28. Reading the applicable Texas State Penal Code is job one, but there may well be no CHL instructor in the state more qualified to give a lecture on the practicalities and nuances of the law than is Charles. I've heard this presentation twice in the past 12 months, and with the update of the new laws taking effect September 1, I'm eager to hear it again.
Another note that some businesses post the "ghostbuster" sign on purpose, with knowledge of the law. A friend of mine does that. He welcomes CHL holders and understands they will ignore the sign, and he knows that criminals will ignore whatever sign he puts up. But he hopes people who are illegally packin'--though not planning anything else illegal--will think twice about bringing in a gun. I've told him I think that is a weak premise, but he shrugs, "The sign doesn't take up much space."
