High school National Anthem protest

Post by striker55 »

Colin Kaepernick visited a high school in CA to give an inspirational talk, the football team has a protest of their own. Disgraceful in my opinion. http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2016/9/2 ... kaepernick

The whole group of these protestors are pathetic in my opinion. I personally think if they are so "oppressed" please get on the next plane and fly to a Country that you think want oppress you.

I am curious how these individuals have each been oppressed...specifically. In what way has ANYONE oppressed them?

I don't know anything about these kids, but you can Google Kaepernick and see his great oppression. He was born to a white mom and a black dad. Neither one wanted him so he was adopted by a white family named Kaepernick. He had a family to pay for him to have uniforms and shuttle him I am sure to many practices and games. He then got a FREE College education. Of course then he became a millionaire. A millionaire and obvious unthankful kid at that.

I DO NOT know of any Country anywhere in the world where he could have ended up with the life he has. Only in America that he thinks is so oppressive. :banghead: He is a spoiled thug!

I don't think anyone is disputing that the US is the most free country in the world. I doubt even Mr. Kaepernick would say that. I would like him to give us specific examples of the oppression he personally has experienced or personally witnessed.

The President of the country seems to think it's OK, he says the people who feel their loved ones where killed for no reason are OK to protest. BLM is OK for him, why not tell people to follow police instructions or put down their weapons. He seems to think that they don't have to listen if they are unjustly confronted.

Surely by now Kaepernick has made enough money to buy himself a one way ticket to Africa to escape American oppression.

Seems like a bunch of people exercising their first amendment rights. Whats the problem in that?

Understand all about first amendment rights, but would like to offer this. At the height of the Cold War, when it was a major Us versus Them between the US and the Soviet Union, during each of the Olympic Games when the Soviet Team would win a Gold Medal, the US athletes would stand a quietly show respect while the Soviet National Anthem was playing. Similarly, when the US won, the Soviet athletes would stand and quietly show respect while the US National Anthem played.

These athletes should, in my opinion, do the same. If they want to protest wrongs against a portion of society, find another method and place.
