Cell Phone Data tax increase?
Has anybody else seen a tax increase on the cell phone bill? Mine went up $5 with an increase in state and local sales tax. Sprint told me that Texas has increased the tax on data usage, but I can't find any reference to that happening. Please let me know if you've seen any changes or know of a tax change.

Get rid of it and your tax increase will go away.

I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear. I would like to know if anyone is aware of new state taxes on cell phones or data usage.

I'm with ATT in Dallas and haven't seen any tax increase. I went back through bills to July and don't see any increase.

I can't find it. But here is a cool link. Perhaps drop a dime to the PUC with documentation. In my search I did find where one carrier planned a $5 spike in July.

Thank you. My increase was on my October bill. Before that, all the bills were the same amount.Jago668 wrote:I'm with ATT in Dallas and haven't seen any tax increase. I went back through bills to July and don't see any increase.
For those of you suggesting I change plans. I have been with Sprint for more than 10 years. Due to length of my service from them, a 23% employment discount, and loyalty rewards everything on our plan is unlimited at a good price. Even with the new charges. I wouldn't be able to switch plans and get a better deal. Thanks anyway.
