itarget pro

Post by karder »

A few months back, I had seen some on-line ads for something called itarget pro. It is a system to assist in dry fire training that consists of a target, a laser bullet in the caliber of your choice and an iphone app. I wasn't sure what to think of it, but I hate dry fire practice so I decided to buy it and try it out. I got it last week, and it is really a lot of fun.
It allows me to use my normal carry gun and do dry fire practice in the house like normal, but it indicates where I would be hitting on the target with the laser and scores my shooting sessions. I think I did more dry fire this weekend and Monday than I have done all year. It is a nifty tool in that I can work on my sight picture and trigger squeeze but also see a result and make corrections. I think this will certainly make my range time more effective and is lots of fun. I figured a lot of you folks might enjoy it, especially with Christmas coming up! They offer about 6 calibers or so, including .223.

I am in no way associated with the company. I just saw it, tried it out, and figured some of your folks might be interested. :tiphat:

That looks interesting and falls into the category, "Why didnt I think of that"? Looks fun and educating, I'll have to look into it. Thanks for sharing.
Just some guy's opinion.

Very interesting concept. I have been looking for a way to practice when I have free time but no time to go to the range

Sounds like you can

"The Target Plate section is designed to hold a standard 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper. We ship the sled with the printed target for the "Bullseye" training mode included."
In addition to that, they have a savable photo of the printed target they included on their website for you to print if you happen to lose the one they send.

I am going to try printing out some other targets. On the provided target, the black lines are kind of fine and at 15 feet, my eyes have a little trouble clearly making out the lines. I tried one of my range targets with a red bullseye, but the app freaked out and started recording shots randomly. Their website has one with a blue grey bullseye. I think I will try that one out.
I am celebrating Thanksgiving at my brother's home and he has told me to be sure and bring it with me for after dinner entertainment. I'll be lucky to get it back!
