And to think up until 2:00 a.m. last November 9 they thought it was the Republicans who were completely out of touch with the American people.

Oh, wait.... They still think that.

This is great news! Their downward spiral will continue at least and intensify hopefully. Fortune has shined on personal freedoms again!

That was a foregone conclusion, although she's not even qualified to be elected to a PTA office.

This along with Schumer's statement that the GOP was going to attack senior's benefits will speed up the spiral.

New Democrat Party Platform: Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

Why would they want to change when it's been working so well (in their own minds)?

Probably because of the same reasons they (the socialists) think that socialism will work if only attempted by the right people (them). The fact that socialism has failed every single time it is attempted is meaningless to them.

You're right. The only challenger was Tim Ryan of Ohio, who considers Pelosi a mentor. And the challenge was, at best, halfhearted. Ryan didn't launch his bid until the Thanksgiving weekend and, by some accounts, lacked even having personal phone numbers for many of his Democratic colleagues. Hard to make a last-minute political push of this nature if you can't even speak to the representatives who will be voting. :headscratch

So Harry Reid is out and Chuck Schumer is in. Is that like replacing Dumb with Dumber? Or is it the other way around? If in doubt, when asked at a press conference yesterday if he supported the bogus Jill Stein recount effort, Reid shrugged then said, "Sure. Why not?" I guess, after all, we have to pass the bill before we can understand what's in the bill and, after all, at this point, what difference does it make?

But wait; there was a sequel to Dumb and Dumber, wasn't there? Just a sample of things Nancy Pelosi has said:

"Every month that we do not have an economic recovery package, 500 million Americans lose their jobs." Wait. Lemme do the math here; this is so complex: the total population of the United States minus 500 million....

"First Bush cut taxes for the rich and the economy has rebounded with new record low unemployment rates, which only means wealthy employers are getting even wealthier at the expense of the underpaid working class." So then the obverse would be true? That if employers lose money hand over fist and initiate massive job cuts, that would be a good thing for the working class? Oh, wait. Government welfare, unemployment checks, food stamps, Medicaid....

"The fact is that a lot of the spending increases came during the Bush administration. Two unpaid-for wars we got ourselves engaged in. A prescription drug plan that added enormous amounts to our spending, and the tax cuts at the high end that did not create jobs and create revenue." Um, but you just said....

"Unemployment benefits are creating jobs faster than any other program." Uh....

"We have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help...to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as Americans." I've tried to bend my head around this one. I guess I'm excited about it, because this must mean that Congress will also guarantee me the same salary and free healthcare as afforded to the members of Congress because I would like to have it. "But you aren't a member of Congress," Pelosi might say. Precisely, duh....

"I don’t think [Obama’s] ever done anything for political reasons." Of course not. Never ever. How absurd to think otherwise....

"It isn't so much that you a spending problem as a priorities problem. And that is what the budget is, setting priorities. It's about timing." And here I thought zero balance accounting was about, well, the zero. It's such a relief that I no longer need to worry about the math, that the amount I take in and the amount I spend is irrelevant....

"Civilization as we know it today would be in jeopardy if the Republicans win the Senate."

"We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it." Since I'll close with ObamaCare, this one has to be de rigueur. This one will never get old....

"ObamaCare will lower everyone’s rates."

"I don’t know who he is," Pelosi said of Jonathan Gruber, the MIT economics professor who helped craft, write, explain, defend, and promote the Affordable Care Act. "He didn’t help write our bill."

"ObamaCare’s implementation is fabulous."

"ObamaCare is lowering costs and the deficit."

"I don’t remember saying ObamaCare would lower everyone’s premiums."

She's obviously smoked too much marijuana in her life. Jeff Spicoli would be proud of her.

Very good news for Republicans. Why would we want people that are reasonable to work with when the fanatical left and BLM caucus are self destructing? Especially when Republicans don't need the Dems to have a majority.
