I like the looks of it, but I don't know if I want a 5" barrel. I carry the M&P 9 full size with just the 4.25" barrel and I love it. There is a lot to like about the new version, especially the upgraded trigger.
bblhd672, did you get the thumb safety version? Mine has no external safety and I don't know if I would want one on a DAO striker fired pistol, but that's just my opinion. Let us know how it works for you, I may change my mind.

I wouldn't want a 5" either at the moment, I have been really torn between getting the M&P full, compact, or shield lately. I really like the shield, I may end up getting that for CC purposes. I carry a full size FNS-9 nowJusme wrote:I like the looks of it, but I don't know if I want a 5" barrel. I carry the M&P 9 full size with just the 4.25" barrel and I love it. Apparently the FDE model has 5" barrel and thumb safety. I had planned to buy the M1.0 and was just waiting on the one I wanted (9mm, black, 4.25" barrel, thumb safety) to get back in stock at Grab A Gun. Got email from them this afternoon that this one was on sale for only $30 more than the M1.0 I was looking at so I "pulled the trigger" on the purchase. I read a bunch of reviews on the M2.0 this morning and really impressed with the improvements, feel like this will meet my desired purchase of a full size 9mm pistol.
Plus, now not all my firearms are scary black ones!

I would request, once you shoot this new M2.0, please write a review (on a new thread) comparing what you feel versus the M&P (standard version... not sure to call it 1.0 or what)

I have never shot a M&P M1.0 so I won't be able to compare it. There are numerous reviews already by people who have shot both versions extensively. However, I will be happy to do a range report as soon as I can get to the range with it.Teamless wrote:I would request, once you shoot this new M2.0, please write a review (on a new thread) comparing what you feel versus the M&P (standard version... not sure to call it 1.0 or what)

I didn't like the way the trigger worked on the normal MP9mm that I had. The hinge on a hinge design was no good for me. I kept grabbing it too far up, and not being able to fire. So I don't see me giving this new one a try with the same style trigger in it. Other than that I enjoyed it.

Quick question, what are the square cut outs in the polymer frame just above the light rail?
I can't tell from the picture are they true cut outs or do they serve as a mounting platform for something?
Just curious.

My new M&P M2.0 has arrived! Range time this weekend..although due to chilly weather in DFW it will have to be an indoor range!

My BIL is lusting after this one, but apparently they are not yet readily available on market in US:
