Old school carry!!

Post by cmgee67 »

I have often thought what if guns never were invented and we were still using swords and bows as our main source of protection. Which would you choose? I'd choose both! I would carry a sword much like aragorns ranger sword from the lord of the rings and I would also carry a recurve of some sort.

I've always liked the Katana's.

A Roman gladius would be my choice. Certainly not a French rapier!!! :smilelol5: We can pick on the French in multiple centuries.

I would save the bow for another purpose. It's an offense weapon and sorry defense weapon. The guy with the big knife will chop you to pieces long before he died from puncture wound. Might as well meet him with even chance.

In addition to a pocket knife I would want a Tomahawk and a Gladius, both can be used single handedly. While a Katana is a pretty weapon it is a long two handed sword and in a confined space it becomes a disadvantage.

Definitely a tomahawk here. I'm guessing we don't have combustion engines, so probably a scythe! And something like a large bowie knife or shortsword with a nice hilt.

I think I would want one of these:

And one of these:

The Vikings were moderately successful using them.
