I have had a couple Ruger Mk III 22/45's for a few years now
I love shooting them and finally thinking about putting the rail on top and adding a red/green dot optic for plinking
So I'm asking for suggestions for a reasonably inexpensive optic which is good for pistols
Thanks

Re: Optic (red/green dot) for .22 pistol
Teamless,
By "reasonably inexpensive optic" one of our members likes the Browning Buckmark reflex sight and another likes the Truglo reflex sight. I "think" I saw their cost in the neighborhood of $60.00 or so, if memory serves right...
I'm hoping the one I bought (Vortex Venom reflex sight) comes in today. Depending on your budget you may or not consider it a reasonable cost. I paid $206.00 for it as Optics Planet had a sale on them.
I bought the Vortex Venom for a couple of reasons: Super lightweight at 1.1 oz, though I think it'll weigh a bit more as I think the 1.1 oz is excluding the mount, which of course will add a tiny bit more weight, but not much.
The lower cost reflex sights can weigh quite a bit more than the VV, as much as 6+ ounces more. However, I installed an el cheapo reflex sight and found that even though it's far heavier than my upcoming VV, I really didn't find the weight something I noticed. When the VV gets here, I plan to remove the el cheapo sight and install it on a pellet rifle.
Also, Cabelas on Hwy 45 has a reflex sight for $99.00 before tax you might consider as it'll be a snap to return if it doesn't perform well.
Good luck!
