4 months....6 guns Am I nuts??

Post by Tim the Teacher »

Since May 1st I have bought an XD40sc, XD9 service, XD9sc, Ruger sp101 .357, S&W 22A and a Bersa Thunder .380 all in cash. On the way home from church "The Conversation" came up about when I was going to call it quits for the year. It was precipitated by the church building committee asking for pledges for a new addition. Am I done or should I press my luck for some sort of 1911 .45?

You need an XD45 and then you can call it quits until 2008.

As long as the bills are getting paid and you're priorities are in order, what's the problem? I think a 1911 or two would be good aquisitions to finish out the month. ;-)
I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961

IMO, Every carry collection must have at least one 1911, one polymer, one pocket pistol, one wheelgun, and one .22lr semi-auto. Until you have all of that, your collection is still short. Also, keep in mind that this is a bare-bones collection and that the more the better

I was feeling guilty, but not now  I bought a Glock G26 and a Bersa Thunder 380 in two months time, and am now looking at the M&P 40sc, PX4 Storm 40 sc and the Glock G27. Can't decide. On the Glock G27 side, all my G26 holsters would fit

Oh, and that adds to my Colt MKIV series 80 .380 government model and Sigma SW40V

I buy at least one a month this year.
Sometimes a trade is involved, so the count stays within reason.

And yes, a 1911 for sure.

Six guns in four months? Yeah, that's a problem...

And add a 45 or two in there as well.

Haha, you can say you're done but the itch never goes away. I had bought 3 guns in 3 months last year and still 2 more found their way to me in another months time. Had it not been for the wife being pregnant, I'm sure I could have accomodated another 2, 4, or 7...something like that. I've actually shown great restraint this year, no pistols and just one Bushmaster XM15. Although, there's an HK compact in .45 that has been lonely at the Bullet Trap since last year. I think it needs to be adopted into a loving family soon.

As far as the 1911... I met a guy at the range once who told me you can never have too many 1911s. I thoroughly agree.

Fits a profile of a mass killer. Just kidding.
Please help the wounded store owner who fought off 3 robbers. He doesn't have medical insurance.

Get Help

Post by USMC-COL »

You're a serial purchaser. Get help. The first step at your first meeting of SPA (Serial Purchasers Annonymous), is to admit you are a serial purchaser. Get up and say, "Hi, I'm Tim and I'm a serial purchaser." Do not spend time exchanging and admiring the concealed carry pieces of the other attendees. That will make the meeting last longer and some of the attendees want to get to the gun stores before they close.

Get help quickly before you infect others.

I'll finish this when I get back from the gun store.
