Range Website

Post by jason »

What do you like to see on a Range/Gun Club website?

For me, I want the site to give me enough information to decide whether I want to check it out in person. I prefer to see information on the site rather than having to call for it.

What do you all like to see?

What range web sites meet your criteria?

What you said, services available, prices, rules, hours, and a map or link to a map site. This site is OK, not exactly a work of art: http://www.texas-city-tx.org/ShootingRange.htm

I would like to see a layout of the range, a simple diagram where each part of the range is in relationship to the others. Also, it may be helpful to add GPS coordinates if it's way out in the boonies and there are multiple roads, turns, etc.
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...

Take a look at the website for Golden Triangle Gun Club. The designer is a member of our club and I think he did a great job. All the information you need and then some.

That's exactly the type person ours is set up for.

We are rather small and and learned years ago, particularly just before and during hunting seasons, it's impractical to let every desperado who's procrastinated on taking a hunter ed. class elaborate on their current crisis, then play 20 questions on how we can resolve it for them immediately. ;-)

Largely because of this (and being private), about 5 years ago, we made at least 4 specific pages at http://www.dentoncountysports.com "Required Reading" for all prospective participants, including CHL people. Folks seem to either love it or hate it. The latter gets to look (or call) elsewhere.
