Well, apparently you people are rubbing off on me. I bought my first pocket knife in 15 years this morning on a whim.
Sure, it's a $4.99 made-in-china 1/2 plastic tactical knife with lead based paint that's so cheap it will jump off the frame and poke me in the neck when I really need it, but its the first one in 15 years.
man, you know you're getting old when you can say you haven't done something in 15 years. It'll work until i can talk flint knapper out of his :)

If you ever get the pleasure of doing any knife work with Flint....you will quickly realize that anything you take from him will start with, "Please"! LOL. Congrats on the new knife....mine is a constant companion.LedJedi wrote: It'll work until i can talk flint knapper out of his :)

You'd have to be one Smooooooooth talker.
The one I carry now was a gift from my friend "El Gato", it will not be going anywhere.
The Randall King Phantom Reflex I used to carry.....now belongs to my daughter. I'm pretty sure she intends to keep it as well.
But hey, at least you have something with an edge on it now, good job.
With my generation (cro-magnon I think), virtually all males had a "pen-knife/pocket knife" with them anytime they were dressed.
Good on ya, for getting a knife!

Hey Flint, were we cave-mates at one time or another?flintknapper wrote:

I was raised the same way; a man had to have a pocket knife, even if it was just to sit around and whittle on a stick while talking to your buddies.
I VERY rarely go without one. When I have to fly somehwere, I feel naked until I can get back into my checked luggage and put the ole' trusty blade back in the pocket.
LedJedi, congrats on the purchase. Now it can be a companion to your roscoe; never leave home without them!
