They caught Gun Boy. So I wonder if they are going to get the feds involved and prosecute him under the gun-free school zone law.

"Efforts to avoid a recurrence of the incident might include launching a public safety officers program where a parent or some other community member at the school will be trained to respond to situations as they occur, school authorities said."

And do what???

Get shot? Run like the dickens? Scream?

I'd better be careful or someone will accuse me of dumping on school administrators again.

I avoid that part of Beaumont if at all possible, lots of things like that happen. The news just never reports on it because it's the "historical district."

The one case I have read about was just like this: An armed criminal ran inside a school. It's a much stronger case than someone caught in an alley 500 feet from the school.

The guy already committed enough state felonies to get 200 years in prison. Federal prosecution would just put the cost of keeping him in prison on a different budget.

If they were serious, they could convict this guy on numerous state charges, lock him up for whatever, and THEN prosecute him for the federal crime and keep him locked up for 5 years (give or take) LONGER.

It's not double jeaprody because the federal crime is completely different from the state crimes.

But when have you ever heard of them doing something like that? It's easier to put up a few signs and pass more "gun control" laws.
