Scope rings
Scope rings
For a larger scope what is preferred, 1 or 2 piece scope rings? Going on an ar10.
Re: Scope rings
I assume you are asking about the base. I prefer one piece when possible.
Re: Scope rings
I have been using the Burris PEPR one piece mounts on my latest builds. Last one was an AR10, they hold their zero well, in my experience when removed and replaced.
Re: Scope rings
I used an American Defense one-piece mount on my Colt LE901-16S. I couldn't be happier with it.

I always use a lapper when installing new rings. https://ads.midwayusa.com/product/21301 ... apping-kit

Re: Scope rings
For rings, I do exactly that. None of the one-piece mounts I've used needed it. They checked perfectly true, so no lapping was needed.Richbirdhunter wrote:I always use a lapper when installing new rings. https://ads.midwayusa.com/product/21301 ... apping-kit
NOTE: That's just been my experience, so far.
