Domestic disturbances are extremely dangerous. The fact that 3 Texas LEOs were recently killed in one should be a sobering thought to any CHL.

When I got my CHL I figured it was for defense of myself and my family - nobody else.

Now, if, for example, I see some psycho hacking away with a machete at a group of little children waiting for their school bus, I will intervene . . .

But by my example, you can guess I set the personal intervention bar very high if I'm not protecting myself or my family. Most cases, I'll dial 911 and be a good witness.
Original CHL: 2000: 56 day turnaround
1st renewal, 2004: 34 days
