Are you quoting the hippie ballad, "Where have all the flowers gone?"frankie_the_yankee wrote:Obviously the kid had no respect for the ban on firearms on campus. I'm pretty sure he didn't have a CA CHL either, ANOTHER law he didn't respect.
When will they EVER learn?
When will they ev-er learn?
If so, I think it's awesome to quote that song in this way, because I'm sure Pete Seeger would turn in his grave for it :D

Holocaust... Never Again.
Some people create their own storms and get upset when it rains.

Yup. That was the intended quote. FWIW, I think that Seeger is still alive. I read somewhere recently (National Review I think) that the long-time communist finally got around to criticizing the brutality of Joseph Stalin and even wrote a song about it.nitrogen wrote:Are you quoting the hippie ballad, "Where have all the flowers gone?"frankie_the_yankee wrote:Obviously the kid had no respect for the ban on firearms on campus. My father was a hippie in the 60's and he's slowly seeing the light. My mother is hopeless though, and I completely blame both of them for my tastes in music.

As I told my dad when he found out I'm a gun owner, "I wish we could live in a world where everything was peace and flowers and love and all that, but until then, I'll hope for it, but still carry my gun." And he seemed to accept that.
