Found this at a pawn shop for $300. Do you think this is a good deal, or would you have bought it? Obviously, I went ahead and bought it, since I like the stainless finish, and the shorter barrel. The fact that it is chambered in .44 Special, and not .44 Magnum. doesn't bother me too much as I like a larger diameter bullet without the kick (and the cost) of a magnum round. (Not that the recoil of .44 Mag is all that bad)
I would have bought it just on what it is, but with the prices today on revolvers, never mind name brand revolvers like Ruger in good condition, I'd say you got a steal.
I have owned a stainless Black Hawk, chambered for 357, since 1986. I bought it for use as a gun on my offshore fishing boat and wanted a gun that could stand up to the salt water and air. The only modification I made was set of rubber grips. It probably has had over 5000 rounds through it in its life and is still in great shape.
Today it has a mounted laser/light and serves as a great armadillo gun on our farm.
If it's in good condition, I think it's a great deal. I would not have bought it, but only because I already have a Blackhawk in 357/9 and a Redhawk in 44 mag that I don't get to shoot enough.
