I'm amazed that people are willing to take (yes, I'm assuming) low paying jobs, that have proven time and again to be the target of armed numbskulls willing to rob said store clerk for a few bucks.

The penalty for being that stupid is said clerk isn't willing to die when facing a low life criminal who appears willing to kill them. Quite often these store clerks will rightly defend themselves with deadly force...

Has been on the local radio a lot, doesn't sound like charges are even being considered, as they shouldn't be. Confronted with a gun I would be in fear for my life, if it might be a toy later wouldn't even cross my mind.

I’ve seen multiple stories lately of criminals (or wantabe criminals) using fake firearms and getting shot for their efforts. If there’s so many guns out there to be had why don’t all the criminals have one?
