My family moved here when I was in grade school (1981) and I have no plans to leave.

The military brought me here and here I remain, no reason to leave.

We moved here from Flint, Michigan in 1997. Kids have moved away, but my wife and I love it here.

Given the situation with the drinking water in Flint, you made the right move!circumspice_tuebor wrote: Tue Aug 28, 2018 8:10 pmWe moved here from Flint, Michigan in 1997. Kids have moved away, but my wife and I love it here.

Ahh, it's no worse than shooting daily, in an indoor range with no ventilation!NJ_Expat wrote: Tue Aug 28, 2018 8:15 pmGiven the situation with the drinking water in Flint, you made the right move!circumspice_tuebor wrote: Tue Aug 28, 2018 8:10 pmWe moved here from Flint, Michigan in 1997. Born here over 60 years ago. Never lived anywhere else. Guess I've about made up my mind to stay.

Re: Poll: Native or Transplant?
Mom was born in El Paso and I was born and raised in California when it was still fun. Growing up, Camp Roberts was the stomping ground for hunting everthing from quail and dove to deer...except the Tule Elk, those were left alone. I grew up shooting twenty-two's on Black Mountain as well as at home. 870 shotguns, a model 700 in 30-06, and a 7mm mauser which I used to bag my first deer. Sadly all of that has been regulated away. I haven't lived in California for close to twenty years and the only reason I go back on occasion is to see my dad.

Where in CA did you live? I went to school in the area and spent quite a bit of time visiting Camp Bob myself. Got to love that area. Some of the panoramic views from the hilltops are fantastic.kayt00 wrote: Tue Aug 28, 2018 9:29 pm Mom was born in El Paso and I was born and raised in California when it was still fun. Similar. Born here but save for HS, not really raised here. Spent a big chunk overseas and elsewhere. Moved back when I could and suspect it's for good, pending a better offer.Pawpaw wrote: Tue Aug 28, 2018 6:30 pm I selected "Born and Raised in Texas and never left", but that's not exactly 100% true.
I spent just over 22 years in the USAF. I lived lots of places but Texas was always home, in my heart and officially (home of record).
