Database of stolen guns
Does anyone know if there is a database of pawned guns in Houston ? I have a problem, I moved recently and I had movers do most of the job my house/wife gun a .22 1911 colt was in my bedroom well I can't find it after the move so I'm not 100 % sure it's stolen or just got packed in the 100 + boxes we were very quiet that I even own guns to the movers , my safe was moved before they came to another house so they never even saw it. Not sure what to do or how to proceed?

I don't know of a database. for guns, that is accessible to the public. But I would report it as lost/ or stolen, right away. If you find it later you can re-notify the police that you found it. The police get a report from every pawn shop, on not only guns but everything they take in. If you have your serial number, and it shows up at a pawn shop, you will be able to have it returned, but, there is a time limit. If the police don't notify the pawn shop owner within thirty days, he/she can then resell the gun.
Take away the Second first, and the First is gone in a second

Report it "Lost"
Notify the police of a "lost gun" immediately. They treat it slightly differently than a stolen gun but it's recorded and if ever found, you get it back... and if ever used in a crime, you are safe in that you've reported it gone.
Sadly, we also had to do this once. Similar story... between movers, cleaning crew, contractors and a few others, our one gun not in the safe and not on me turned up missing. The PD still calls me once a year to verify that it never turned up. So if nothing else, they do keep up with the list and serial numbers.
