As noted in the title, this is a "friendly reminder" that may be repeated in less than a friendly fashion if it is ignored.
We are about to enter the 2019 Texas Legislative Session, with pre-filing beginning in November. Depending upon what happens in the November general election, and the results of the Speaker's race, it may be a session that requires more work than normal to kill anti-2A bills and to pass our own. This job is made more difficult when a few of our members feel compelled to post their typical anti-LEO comments, even on threads dealing with where can people get the best BBQ in Texas. I've said it numerous times, but it should be repeated: Our enemies monitor the Forum. Elected officials monitor the Forum. The media monitor the Forum. If only two or three of nearly 20,000 Forum members make inflammatory posts, you know which ones will be quoted. This isn't conjecture, it's a proven fact. Let's not repeat history.
Please forego posting comments that can be used or twisted to hurt our cause. If you just can't resist, then look at it this way. Why waste your time on a post/thread that will be deleted? We are not going to let rantings hinder our legislative goals.

AMEN!!
I agree. Each Legislative session, has only a limited, number, of days, to pass, any bills, and while we all want to see pro-gun bills pushed through, and anti gun bills defeated. The Legislature also deals with a lot of other things, that we may not feel we have a vested interest in. They are elected officials, and therefore represent, more than just the membership on this forum. Personal attacks, on legislators, does nothing but stir up animosity. We can disagree, with their politics, but lets, not turn our venom, on elected, officials, just because they may not sign on to, or vote for, a particular bill. We have opportunities, to meet with them, send e-mails, file petitions, and all sorts of other ways, to get a feel, for how we think they represent our values, but they also have other constituents, who want things done in each session, so there are some things that will get bypassed. Use your votes to put people in office, or remove those you disagree with. Or better yet, run for office yourself. JMHO

Mr. Cotton. Thanks so much for your efforts. I'll be watching for your call to action alerts. I used to post stuff that I now regret. I've learned so much about decorum, and pragmatism, from this, and a couple of other boards. I want you to know that you are making a difference.
