Excellent, high quality gunsmith in DFW area?

Post by nitrogen »

A friend of mine is looking for a gunsmith in the DFW Area. He's near Richardson, but wouldnt mind anything in the metroplex.

He's got a new slide and barrel that needs to be fitted to a 1911. The one smith he went to at B&S couldn't/wouldn't fit it, so he's looking for someone that can fit the parts.

I know a few gunsmiths that do awesome work out of state, but he'd love to give teh business to someone local. (As would I later on)

1911 Smith

Gene Willliams near McKinney. He was the in-house smith at the Collin County range before it shut down. Really knows the 1911.

Gene Willliams did my 1911

Gene does great work, He did a high polish to my Kimber .40 1911 and it is a definate show piece.

The Target Master on Jupiter also uses a gun smith who seems to be verry good.
I purchased 2 matching Colt Combat Commanders he built (all custom)

THere's a Gunsmith who works at GunMaster in Plano, Tx. Not sure about the extent of his services, but he has been in it for quite some time. Might try there..........I've had minor work done by them. Sight installation, parts install. Nothing major, but all work was exceptional.
