Can anyone tell me what model this rifle is?

Post by DMoses »

Hello all!

I'm hoping that some knowledgeable person can tell me what model this rifle is... I know its a Remington 700 Stainless 30-06 but I don't know much more then that. I think the inscription on the mag. base might be the clue but I have no idea where to go to find out.

Any help would be appreciated guys!

Looks like an "ADL" only stainless and an engraved floor plate.

Are you sure. That has BDL all over. I don't think the ADL's had the bottom open round holder. And they don't have that nice of a stock.

The ADL's have a fixed floor plate. The BDL's have the opening Floor plate allowing you to load from the bottom.

BDL is left handed

My dad owned one...

ADL's typically come with plain stock and no trimmings.

BDL has always been the checkered, dressed up version of the same rifle, whether right or left handed.

Every BDL I've ever owned or seen...had nicer wood, high gloss finish, and a black fore end on the stock.

Hence, my answer.

Absent the fore end cap, I guessing it's a 700 Classic.

I think you mean't UN-load from the bottom.

Its not a BDL, I am certain of that :

ADL's came with a fixed floor plate, but they were a common platform for building a custom rifle. Many folks added the ADL to BDL "kit" available from brownell's to get the hinged floor plate.

From the photo, it is hard to tell if the stock is a "straight" comb and lacks a cheek piece. If it is...it could be a "classic", they came with a hinged floor plate, but I still think its a lightly customized ADL.

Here is an ADL stock:

Just my guess.

BDLs come in both left and right handed versions. You're both right.
