Magazine base pad pin

Post by Beiruty »

Yesterday, I had a magazine failure at the Real Steal Match. The Magazine Pad came off flying and all the rounds were pushed down like a river of ...

I collected the parts, but the Magazine base pad pin is no where to be found.

Where can I find a replacement base pad pin? I prefer locally to Dallas area.
The pin looks like

Beiruty, in this photo you posted is the pin at the rear on the base in a vertical position? If you disassemble the magazine perhaps you can measure the pin diameter and get a roll pin of the same size at the hardware store.

That is exactly my backup plan.

This will probably become your primary plan. I really doubt you will find an OEM pin for sale.
I had a similar issue on an M&P magazine and just had to buy a new magazine. :tiphat:

:thumbs2: I did that for an old pump .22 rifle bolt that had no parts available. The pin looks out of place close to two solid pins, but it saved the old rifle and it shoots good as new! Good luck!

You might also be able to use a gauge pin. Amazon has individual minus (go) and plus (no go) pins available. The trick is getting one that is a good interference fit.

I need one 7/64", so If I start with 3/32, I can cut it to size and bevel it from both ends so it would not come out.
I asked my wife to grab one of those from Harbor Freight in Mckinney.

My wife fixed it in 5 mins. I only picked the correct pin and cut it to length. She did the rest
