Disturbing new anti tactic

Post by G.A. Heath »

It may not be new, but it is new to me.

While leaving work today I observed a disturbing new tactic by an anti. A lady was attempting to hang a sign on the sliding doors of our building that face outward. I approached and told her we do not allow people to hang signs on the doors or the windows beside them. She then told me that "This isn't a sign for yard sale or such, its to keep you safer." It was then I got a look at what was printed on it, a gun busters logo. I then told the lady to leave the building and should she return or if I saw the sign on the premises I would file charges. I went on to Walmart and one of her signs was there, I informed an employee and they removed it. I saw her signs at two other locations and pointed them out, resulting in their removal. I went to another business and noticed they had no such sign and commented on it only to get a response of "I stopped the guy and told him not to come back." This tells me that there were no less than two anti's working this little project in a very small town.

Now if these people decide to use a little more of their brain and read up on the 30.06 signage it could cause some rather uncomfortable moments. And when you do see a 30.06, or gun busters sign just remember that the business in question may not have actually posted it. So contact the management of the establishment and see if the sign is legit.

Bless there little confused pea-pickin' hearts!

If the sign was in color, then it might be time to be concerned, because that means someone got a bolus of money to get either Kinko's to print the signs out, or they may have someone in their midsts with a color inkjet printer at home...

Sorry, sometimes my sarcasm gets the best of me... ;-)

Sounds like criminal mischief. Getting one of them picked up for it can be extremely effective in getting the point across to the whole group that they have no right to inflict their opinions on the unwilling.

Depending on your local PD, you could at least get them to stop by and do a criminal trespass warning, (essentially, they witness you giving notice that she's not to come back, and fill out a card as proof that you've met the requirements for her to be arrested for CT if she's found on the property again) which has the bonus of IDing her for you, and establishing what she's doing in case someone else wants to follow up on the criminal mischief.

What city was this? It sounds like something that would happen in Berkeley, California.

It was in Seminole, tiny little town with around 6000 in population. The most entertaining part of the whole encounter was her efforts to post the sign on an automatic sliding door. I also forgot to mention that when she left I watched her get into her vehicle, which had New Mexico tags. Her signs would keep CHL holders out in New Mexico.

Seminole is about 20 miles from the New Mexico border, right? I did a quick search to see if this is some kind of misguided activist movement. I couldn't find anything.

Sounds like an Almond Joy bar.

How many signatures would it take to get her banned from Texas?

Some people have WAAAAAYYYYYYYY too much time on their hands.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

She was obviously lost (in more ways than one).
