I'm shaking my head in disgust...

I know a rule is a rule...But this is pathetically enforced...

Being a veteran, I know that if my son or daughter wanted to participate in the honor guard, and send me off with a volley...I would want them to be able to do so...If they choose to do so...

If the issue is training :skep: , I make a motion that the NRA develop a special training program for sons and daughters of veterans who pass on to be able to participate in this ceremony...

There just seems something incredibly wrong here...Maybe I just don't understand...

Understandibly there might be an issue with age of the participant, but I believe this is something that I do not believe should offend anyone...

I stand to be corrected, but the article just hit a nerve I suppose...

"They've maybe not been trained properly on these weapons — we don't know that. But the vets have."

I have to wonder what percentage of vets out there have been trained on M1 Garand rifles?

As far as I know it hasn't been standard issue since the Korean War. My grandad was in WWII and Korea, and I'm even not sure if he was trained on them (He was issued a 1911)

I've seen quite a few honor guards around this area using M-14's...

So there's another type that you'd need training on I suppose...

Maybe I'm just making a mountain outta a molehill about all this...

It just another one of those things that rubbed me wrong this morning...

Good thing its not in my nature to hold a grudge very long...

It is pretty ridiculous that due to silly government restrictions they can't allow more people to help out.
