As someone else said, at least this person only hurt themselves.
No place in the article says anything about kids. The guy was 22, so my guess is young unmarried college aged guys and probably alcohol involved since it was a BBQ and 11:15 PM.
Sad that he didn’t follow the basic safety rules.
