Don't mess with Grandma....

Post by Zero_G »

Posted on another list by a friend of mine (and NRA instructor):
An elderly Amarillo lady did her shopping and, on returning to her car,
found four guys about to drive off in her vehicle.

She dropped her shopping bags and drew her handgun, screaming at
the top of her voice, "I have a gun, and I know how to use it! Get out of the car!"

The four men didn't doubt her -- they got out and ran for their lives.

The lady loaded her shopping bags into the back of the car and got into
driver's seat. She was so shaken that she couldn't get her key into the
ignition.

She tried and tried, and then it dawned on her why.

A few minutes later, she found her own car parked four or five spaces
farther down. She loaded her bags into the car and drove to the nearest
police station.

The sergeant she told the story to couldn't stop laughing.

Wiping tears from his eyes, he pointed to the other end of the counter,
where four frightened men were reporting a car-jacking by a wild-eyed,
elderly woman they described as Anglo, about five feet tall, slight build,
95 to 100 pounds, glasses, curly white hair, carrying a large handgun. No
charges were filed (ONLY in Texas....!).

That's one memorable "Senior Moment"!!!!

According to Snopes, this is mostly a true story: http://www.snopes.com/crime/justice/grannies.asp

Another version I've heard as a joke ends --

After she got into her own car, she tried to flag down a policeman and tell him what she had done. He said, "I don't have time, lady. There's a crazy woman running around here threatening to shoot people."
