Poll: How Much Ammo on hand?

Post by Lynyrd »

I was in a discussion the other day about how many rounds we normally had. There was a person there who was not anti gun, but only owned a couple of guns for self defense. They were amazed at how many rounds my friends and I keep on hand.

Don't include reloading supplies, just ready to fire cartridges. All calibers combined, how much ammo do you normally have on hand?

Edited to add: I should have made a 10,000 + category. Oh well.

5000+ of all various calibers. I don't have enough ammunition.

I don't have nearly enough... Sitting about 1200 right now but only because I've been training and competing more.

Since all my firearms were lost in a boating accident I gave away all 53 rounds I had on hand. :tiphat:

I read with amusement when the media reports that Law Enforcement found an "arsenal" in a house with 4 guns and 1000 rounds of ammo. Like we know, that is a good day at the range, especially if shooting .22LR.

Okay...

I am glad I am not the only one! I have some 30.06 some 300 Blackout and some 50 BMG because one day...

According to me “not enough”
According to Her “you are becoming a hoarder!”

Current inventory is north of 40k not including .22lr

5,000 rounds sounds like alot, but that is less than 2 hours of continuous fire. 5,000 rounds is also less than what two SWAT / TR teams carry at any given time. #perspective

Hey, that's my story. Except, I have to admit that I had almost 100 rounds and most of them went down with the boat.

Well, I openly carry my S&W M&P M2.0 9mm 5inch in a Safariland 7TS ALS, for which I carry 50 rounds. Then there is my wife's Walther PPS M2 LE with 30 rounds. Then there is my backup Ruger LCR .38 Special ...

I'd tell my soldiers that there was no such thing as too much ammo unless you are trying to swim. Of course, we were self propelled artillery and did not have to carry it ourselves. ;-)
